Police release frantic 911 call from Sugar Land home invasion
06:54 AM CDT on Wednesday, August 20, 2008
SUGAR LAND, Texas -- Sugar Land Police have released the 911 call made after a man was reportedly attacked by an ex-employee.
Investigators said 30-year-old Lydia Munoz broke into Ron Williamson's home and stabbed him in the head.
It happened Monday near the intersection of Elmwood Court and Greenway.
“I told my wife, ‘just get out, just get out and run. Iff they’re gonna kill somebody, just let them kill me,’” said Williamson.
“She [the suspect] was coming right for my heart and the knife went right into my skull,” he said.
According to police, Munoz got in through the back door, headed to the master bedroom and began stabbing Williamson as he slept.
They said his wife, Cindy, asked her 10-year-old son to bring her a bat when she realized her husband was losing blood -- and strength.
“I pulled back and I hit her. Yeah, I did hit her,” said Cindy Williamson.
“I’m like 'Ron, I was an All-Star softball player. Let her up, she’s not going anywhere.' He was, like, 'no I’m not letting her up.' And I’m thankful, because I may have actually hurt her at that point,” said the Sugar Land woman.
The couple held the woman at bay until police arrived.
Munoz is being held on aggravated assault and burglary charges.
