Former boxer jailed in Houston
03:52 PM CDT on Friday, August 15, 2008
HOUSTON – Former light-heavyweight boxer Reggie Johnson has failed to get his bond reduced.
Johnson is accused of taking more than $120,000 in grant money for boxing camps that never happened.
That grant money came from the Red Cross.
It was supposed to be used for camps for Katrina evacuees last year.
On Friday, Johnson tried to get his $200,000 bond reduced, but a judge denied his request.
