Man accused of taking photos of topless Lake Travis sunbathers
02:05 PM CDT on Monday, August 11, 2008
A Houston man is accused of taking explicit photos of two women who were sun-bathing topless at Lake Travis over the weekend, according to court documents.
Phu Van Nguyen was charged with improper photo/visual recording without consent after the Saturday incident at a lake cove near Hippie Hollow off Comanche Trail.
According to an arrest affidavit, a Travis County Sheriff's deputy spotted Nguyen hiding behind a tree, overlooking an area where the two women were laying out. The deputy reported that he thought Nguyen was acting suspiciously and walked around the shoreline to see if there was anyway the women could have seen him.
That's when one of the women apparently noticed Nguyen and he took off. The officer stopped him and looked at the photos on his camera. According to the documents, almost all of them were focused on the women's bodies. Nguyen told the officer he knew he should not have taken the photos.
His bond was set at $6,000.
