Lightning blamed for Plano church fire

Firefighters say lightning set a church on fire in Plano overnight. The fire was confined to the steeple of Christ United Methodist Church at Coit and Parker roads. An East Dallas residence that caught fire early today may also have been the victim of a lightning strike, and the stormy weather also knocked out power to an estimated 4,500 customers.

American Airlines launches in-flight Internet

Gas leak leads to evacuations in McKinney

All businesses and residents in a 12-block area surrounding the historic old Collin County Courthouse were ordered to move out after the gas line was cut shortly before 8 a.m. Municipal court and some city offices were also closed. The leak comes less than three months after a natural gas explosion in McKinney that killed one person and injured two others.
